The Vida Institute (NGO) in Salvador de Bahia, Brasil, runs the Vida Project “Food for the Soul”. This includes programmes of assistance, education, training and health care for children, adolescents and adults from the favelas (shanty towns). As a way of raising money for these programmes it has started this B&B scheme.

The institute is housed in a Portuguese-style house. Both Jorge Amado and Vinicius de Morais have stayed here for brief periods. On the Baia de Todos os Santos peninsula, it has a marvellous view and direct access to the beach.

The Association’s headquarters is situated on the Baia deTodos os Santos, in front of the sea, at Boa Viagem, an old bairro of Salvador.
It has 4 double rooms and one for four people.
Open all year round.
Cost: €25/day per person (B&B, use of our own swimming pool).

Also required: €30 annual subscription to the Istituto Universal Vida – onlus, Verona, to cover administrative costs.
